That's how folders were defined EONs ago (by DOS and Windows and Unix...). The files in a folder (the photos in a folder) can viewed in many orders... By default, most programs show you the photos sorted alphabetically by "name". That's what Windows Explorer does. But you can also ask Windows Explorer to sort them

In XP Windows Explorer you can easily sort files by date by simply clicking the date column on the right side pane in details view. This works for everything in my computer except the CD-ROM drive. When I try sorting them "by name," then they appear in pairs, alphabetically, with the first of each pair being the *.BK! file, followed by its corresponding *.wpd file.
